Victoria Edgar

Victoria Edgar is an artist printmaker living and working in Victoria B. C. She studied at Dawson College (D.F.A.) and received her B.F.A. from Concordia University in Montreal.
In 1981, after a brief stage at Atelier Graff, she began an intensive etching formation at Atelier Libre de Recherches Graphiques,(A.L.R.G.) studio of La Guilde Graphique, working in the etching tradition of W.S. Hayter. She was massier from 1983-84 and studio coordinator from 1985-91,working with many resident and visiting artists such as Keith Howard, and with master printers Susy Raxlen and Luc Nadeau.
Since 1993 Victoria Edgar has been printmaking at Ground Zero Printmakers, Victoria's co-op studio, and is a member of the Xchanges artist-run center. She teaches in the children's art programme at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, has led and assisted at several children's printmaking events, and organised Artist's book workshops as well as teaching printmaking courses at Ground Zero.
Victoria Edgar exhibits on an ongoing basis in Montreal and Toronto and participates in events and exhibitions in Victoria and throughout the province.
