Victoria is an accomplished landscape artist who creates large-format pastel on paper. She gives us a response to nature that is soft in look but not in execution. In her pastels Victoria conveys her love of nature: billowing clouds above an empty country road, the solemnity of large trees reflected in the water of a pond or the sensual disorder of undergrowth. However, it is the wild exuberance of gardens that remains the chief preoccupation of this artist of American origin. Her vision is one which allows the viewer to have the feeling of being in a place, not literally, but in terms of sensation.
